We only use high-quality materials: Stainless steel, brass, freshwater pearls, natural stones, and shells.
Stainless steel pieces: Depending on the design, either left in the natural silver tone of stainless steel or finished with a 18K gold plating.
Brass pieces: Depending on the design, either refined with a high-quality silver plating or a 18K gold plating.
Pearl and natural stone pieces are largely handcrafted – every stone and every pearl is set individually, giving each piece its own unique character.
All ZerZiv pieces are nickel free and skin-friendly.
At ZerZiv, we make a clear distinction between waterproof and water resistant – so you know exactly what to expect.
Waterproof means: The piece can handle regular water contact – washing your hands, showering, or swimming in freshwater. The surface stays stable and does not tarnish.
Water resistant means: The piece can handle short water contact in everyday life – e.g. a few splashes when washing your hands. However, you should avoid intentionally wearing it in the shower, while swimming, or in the sea.
Whether a piece is waterproof or water resistant depends on the base material – meaning what the chain, bracelet, or ring itself is made of.
Which pieces are waterproof?
- Stainless steel in its natural silver tone
- Stainless steel with 18K gold plating
- Freshwater pearls or natural stones on a stainless steel base
Which pieces are water resistant?
- Brass (both silver-plated and 18K gold-plated)
- Freshwater pearls or natural stones on a brass base
To keep all your pieces beautiful for longer, we recommend avoiding direct contact with perfume, creams, soap, chlorine or salt water, and harsh cleaning products. Take your jewelry off before showering, swimming, or working out.
All ZerZiv pieces are nickel free and skin-friendly.
With the right care, your ZerZiv pieces will stay beautiful for a long time. Here are our recommendations:
Daily care:
- Put your jewelry on last – after applying perfume, creams, make-up, or hairspray
- Take it off first, before showering, swimming, or exercising
- Avoid direct contact with chlorine and salt water, disinfectants, and harsh cleaning products
Cleaning:
- Regularly wipe your jewelry with a soft, dry cloth (ideally: microfiber cloth or jewelry polishing cloth)
- For heavier dirt: gently clean stainless steel pieces with lukewarm water and a mild, pH-neutral soap, then dry thoroughly
- Silver-plated or gold-plated brass pieces should only be cleaned dry with a soft cloth – no water
- Pieces with pearls or natural stones should always be wiped dry only, even if the base material is waterproof
What to avoid:
- Harsh cleaning agents, bleach, or alcohol
- Silver dips and immersion cleaners – they can damage platings and natural stones
- Ultrasonic cleaners and steam cleaners
- Toothpaste or household remedies like baking soda – they scratch the surface
Storage:
- Store your jewelry in the included ZerZiv jewelry box – this prevents scratches and tangling of chains
- Keep your jewelry dry and out of direct sunlight
